Acid spills are time-sensitive chemical events. When sulfuric acid escapes a battery bank, when nitric acid splashes across a work surface, or when phosphoric acid seeps into concrete pores, corrosion begins instantly. Surfaces etch, fumes release, and equipment integrity declines with every second the chemical remains active. Traditional absorbents only hold liquid in place while the acid continues to burn, migrate, and release vapor. The Enviro-Z® 5 lb Shaker is engineered specifically for fast neutralization and solidification of sulfuric, nitric, phosphoric, and most non-hydrofluoric mineral acids, along with corrosive alkalines such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Instead of simply absorbing fluid, Enviro-Z reacts at the chemical level to convert hazardous acid into a dry, inert solid that can be swept, bagged, and removed under RCRA-compliant disposal. This allows technicians to control a spill at the point of contact rather than containing active chemistry and hoping for dissipation.
